Dear Subscribers,

Greetings!

I began a new still life with roses (bargain Valentine's day leftovers
from the grocery store!).

The setup:

Stage one: Expecting a race against wiltage, I went for the roses first,
only being able to finish the bottom two in the first sitting.

Stage two: Finished that upper rose and getting into the rest of the
painting. Whoops, I still need to get those stems and leaves in.

To be continued next week....

And a charcoal portrait from life model (vine charcoal and charcoal
pencil on bristol vellum). Charcoal is such a good medium....it's so
versatile and forgiving like paint!:

JUST SOLD! :

"Juicy Fruit Press" and
"Against Gray"

Until next week,
