Dear Subscribers,

Greetings! Lots of new stuff this week.

Thanks for all your continued support. I hope you enjoy reading these
newsletters as much as I enjoy writing them! It's fun to share, but more
importantly it helps to crystallize where my art's at ...letting me see
what I need to work on and where I want to go next. So, thank you!

The new painting "Equipoise"
  (36x18) is finished
and up on the website!

Next I'd like to do a figure painting that's more subtle in color...more
tonal and monochromatic, and well-lit from a single source. I have a
blank panel this size....maybe I'll do a horizontal composition. Oh, the
possibilities....

Started a new still-life. Below is the setup:

I blocked it in and started concentrating on the pitcher...it has this
warm dust/dirt around the middle that I wanted to play up.

...and the apple...

I decided I didn't like the apple...I wanted to have the changing
warms/cools of the pitcher really stand out. I replaced it with a spoon!

This still-life is almost done. The pitcher and cup need some more work.
I'll have the finished product for you next week! To be continued....

And now a figure painted at school from a life model, "Study of Seated
Redhead"
(24x12). This was painted over the past 3 Friday afternoons. Forgot to
take pics of the stages....nuts!

Here is a portrait bust sculpted from life that I've been working on.
(water clay)

Until next week,
