Dear Subscribers,
Greetings!
I recently had a conversation with Youngman Brown for his excellent
podcast "Your Creative Push". The podcast episode will come out in a
few months (I'll let you know). We delved into some of my recent
challenges with time management as parent. It's something I've been
thinking about a lot these days. When it comes to work, I've been
trying to prioritize the tasks that actually matter. In my case, that's
painting. There have been weeks in the recent past where only a few
hours were spent with brush in hand, and all the remaining precious
work time was used to perform auxiliary tasks, all of which seemed very
necessary to maintain and progress my career. When this happens, I'm
left feeling drained, dissatisfied, and I'm ashamed to say, a little
resentful. This is not good. Since speaking with Youngman, I'm
redoubling my efforts to be more discerning on a day-to-day
basis....Including today. As such, this will be a quick newsletter with
no process stuff about the new painting. I know that for many of you,
the process part is why you subscribed to the newsletter. So thanks for
sticking with me, I really appreciate it. I'll try and make it up to
you. And mad respect to all you parents out there, you're probably
doing (or previously did) a great job with this juggling act. At least,
better than you think.

, it looks

This painting was created for a show that opens this Saturday! I'm
really happy with how this one turned out (and hopefully some of you in
Denver get to see it in its silver frame). It was delivered to the
gallery yesterday, just under the wire. Whew! It is available: Purchase
