Dear Subscribers,
Greetings!
It's been a trying week with two paintings getting wiped out, but at least two neat minis made it through. One of the wipe-outs looked kinda interesting mid-wipe, because a few parts of it were dry:

First stage of mini:

And the finished mini, "Blue Flowers" (6x6)

And another new mini: "Leaves" 6x6

Lately I've noticed in myself a waning enthusiasm for my small pile still-life objects, so I spent yesterday thrift-shopping and garage-sale-ing with family. Got some cool stuff, can't wait to use it. Who'd have thought building my library of old still-life junk would be this much fun? Expect to see some larger compositions soon.
I picked up the September issue of Southwest Art Magazine!! My write-up in the "21 under 31" feature is pretty cool (and takes a whole page), and Carmen's Gallery ran a FULL PAGE ad for my work in the same issue. The ad looks huge! Pretty awesome (and a subscription card is at that page, so the mag fell open to the ad perfectly).

(I'll make a quality scan of the article for you later)
My painting "Blaze" was chosen as finalist in an online competition:
