| Dear Subscribers,
 Greetings!

 Good week. Two small cityscapes.

First stage: (painted over one of the wipe-outs from last week)

Blocking it in with my knife.

 Next stage:

 Next stage:

Refining the focus of the painting: the bus.

The finished painting: "70 NOVATO" (8x10):

I simplified from the photo reference and took only what I thought would benefit the painting.  Between the bus, the street lamp, and the warm reflection of the lamp on the street, I like to think there's a sort of triangle of focus that keeps the eye moving around, but ultimately settling on the bus.

 Here is that photo:

I'd originally overlooked this ordinary snapshot. But I looked again and saw how I might make it into a cool painting.

 On to the next.
 First stage:

  Blocking it in.

 Next stage:

 Next stage:

I might have stopped at this point, but it wasn't quite what I was going for. Somehow the blue didn't jive for me. Sooo...

 Next stage:

  .....I go nuts.

And the finished painting, "Corridor" (8x8):

 Until next week,
