Dear Subscribers,
Greetings!
New still life this week. It felt good to be back to still life.
First stage:

Blocking it in.
Next stage:

Going for the apple first.
Next stage:

Getting my most intense color right away. Having fun, staying loose, remembering why I enjoy still-life. This beginning stage is my favorite part. Lots of rapid progress.

Working more on the vase.
Should really start that background....
Next stage:

Almost done, gotta finish the vase and apple.
And the finished painting, "Red Cloth Blue Cloth" (12x9):

I'm back to figure night class twice a week! Now painting from life.
Drawing in umber:

Starting the head:

refining head, starting body:

Close-up of progress so far. Using small brushes. The panel is 24x18, so this head is just a little tiny thing:

To be continued.........
I've been told that the link in last week's newsletter was flawed, so if you'd like to access the facebook "Like" button for my new painting "Brink", click through the picture below!
