Dear Subscribers,

Greetings!

I have just joined a gallery in San Francisco!

The super-cool STUDIO Gallery is
located in the Nob Hill neighborhood. I'll have three paintings in the
upcoming "Delicious" show (work
inspired by food and drink):

The show will be up on February 29th and I'll be attending the opening
reception on March 4th, 2-6 pm.

Currently on the way to R.S. Hanna Gallery:

"Two Tangerines"

As previewed last week, a new still-life!:

The setup:

For the hands I used my reference photos of the full pose. For the
pitcher I just balanced it on a lysol canister:

And the finished painting, "Succor"

I'm back this month for the Safehouse Atelier night figure sessions.

After first session:

Carl Dobsky (the instructor) suggested starting with the
torso as it makes more sense to size the head according to the
proportions of the body rather than resizing the body to fit the head.
Makes sense.

After the second night:

After the third night:

The head at this tiny size is always especially challenging. I'm happy
with it so far, and will continue to develop.

Info for my Still life oil painting class in Palo Alto, California:

Mondays and Wednesdays, 9 am - noon. $250/month

Contact me with questions or to get on the waiting list for March and
beyond.

Some student work from last week! :
