My sold out workshop at Townsend Atelier in Chattanooga Tennessee was a great experience. After a 3-year hiatus, it felt so damn good to be teaching again. Feeling grateful to the 12 awesome attendees from all over the USA and Canada for trusting me with their valuable time (I know some of you are reading--Thank you!). I loved the spacious venue and Peggy was a superb host. I WILL BE BACK :). |

I saw this pear at the grocery store and thought it was a very nice pear indeed. So I wanted it to be my focus. All other compositional decisions were in service of that goal. As one example, I used the pipe in front of the pear to create a moment of highest contrast and also a sharpest edge. These pipes are for building sculpture armatures. I saw them laying around at the atelier and thought they would be interesting to use in my composition. Both knife and brush were used in this demonstration.
