Dear Subscribers,
Greetings!
My recent painting "Copper & Onion" is a finalist in Raymar's March contest. Sweet. See other finalists and judge comments HERE.

New still life. This one was born as a paint-along demo during my class, so I didn't end up taking enough pics to justify an animation.
The setup:

First stage:

My drawing in umber of the shapes of shadows.
Next stage:

Getting some paint down, apple first (the focal point). I like how this stage looks. Looks fresh.

This is where we stopped at the end of class. I decided to continue. But I thought it needed more... just a little too barren.
Next stage:

And the finished painting, "Duos" (9x12):

And a new cityscape! Painted with knives. Forgot progress pics on this one.

And finally we have arrived at the important part of the newsletter. Last week's chocolate talk sparked requests for the recipe. I continued to tweak it a bit this week and here it is: Dark Dark Dark Coconut Oil Sugar-Free Chocolate
If you try it, be sure to comment on the Forum to let me know how it went (or if you tried any interesting variations. Cayenne anybody? Bacon? oh the possibilities)
JUST SOLD!:

Post comments/questions about this week's issue at The Newsletter Forum!
(Questions posted on the forum much more likely to be answered in a timely manner.)
Until next week,
