Greetings!
 
For you creative people, check out this commencement speech by genius writer Neil Gaiman. It's amazing.
 
Went to Point Reyes this weekend. It was awesome:

 
Foil. It looks cool. I wanted to paint it:
 

 
That's an egg wrapped in foil. This was a useful first-run of foil (I figured out that using a knife seemed to be better than brush for making foil-ish texture), but I wiped out the painting due to weak/poorly planned composition.

Yes, lots of foil.

My initial plan is to make the foil goblet the primary focal point, with the apple in support.

I wanted something small and round to help with the composition on the right side, but couldn't find anything small and round to wrap with foil. I ended up using my giant track ball mouse and just scaling it down.
 
And the finished painting, "Foil Things" (9x12):

In the end, I'm not sure the goblet remained the primary focal point. Perhaps it was usurped by the apple. Maybe they are equal. Either way, I'm happy with it. I want to paint more foil.
