Greetings!

 

New still-life. The onion from last week was still looking nice...

The setup:

 
 

I know I'm going to have grapes in here but I don't actually have any on
hand. That's cool, grapes are fudge-able... especially dark vague ones.

 

First stage:

 
 

Getting composition and shape of shadow in.

 

 
 

 

Gotta have big piles of paint ready to go! Even with a little 8x8
painting:

 
 

 

Next stage:

 
 

Decide to get the background/foreground relationship sorted out before
going into the objects.

 

Next stage:

 
 

I want some thick paint, so at this point I put down the brush and start
in the with the knife.

And finally, to be debuting at my One-Man show
  in September, the finished
painting, "Lunaris"

The City Streets group show   opening
at Studio Gallery in SF was great! Got pretty crowded. They always put
