| Dear Subscribers,
 Greetings!

 A new still life.
The setup. I didn't have a mandarin orange at the time, so the lemon acted as a stand-in to locate reflections and such:

 Local Artists Picture the Neighborhood
 Artwork created:  May 25th - June 1st, 2013
Opening reception:  Sunday, June 2nd, 2-6 pm
Work on display through June 9th

94109 is an idea we've been bouncing around for years, and we are so excited to finally be able to try it out!  We've invited dozens of local artists to converge on our zip code, 94109, and make art based on what they see.  Polk Street is like the spine of the zip code, which extends from Turk Street all the way to the bay, and includes lots of side streets and even Aquatic Park.  Artists will be working from May 25th - June 1st, and we'll put the pieces up as they come into the gallery:  unframed, wet paintings will be on shelves, and pieces on paper will be hung with pins and clips.  This will be a chance to see some very fresh artwork, and a chance to view a slice of the city through the eyes of a group of very talented artists.

So next weekend I'll be in the city with my camera gathering the reference I'll need that week to paint for the show! The quick turnaround on this will be interesting. All those fresh unframed paintings should make for a fun/festive show.

 Reminder:
