I'm feeling the holiday love. I've been tossing around the idea of doing a sale where a portion of proceeds go to charity. I'm just going to try it out. After all, 'tis the season. I'm going to do this in a way that will let you claim your tax deduction and choose your own charity.
Announcing to subscribers from now until the end of 2013:
Holiday Charity Sale!
50% of proceeds go to charity!
Beautiful wood frames included. Free Shipping.
Here's how it works:
Step 1: You notify me with the intent to purchase a certain painting from the sale list below.
Step 2: I confirm availability of the painting and place it on hold.
Step 3: You donate 1/2 of the painting cost to the charity or good cause of your choice. (example: a painting costs $1400 USD, so you donate $700 USD)
Step 4: You immediately send me documented proof of your donation (photo, scan, fwd, etc of donation confirmation)
Step 5: I confirm acceptance of your proof, and bill you for the remaining 1/2 price. (example: you donated $700, so I bill you for the remaining $700)
Step 6: You pay, and the painting is yours.
Step 7: I will ship for free within continental USA, might need to charge you if international. More recent paintings will take longer to ship...some are still drying.
Step 8: We both get warm karma fuzzies for the donation, a good cause benefits from the donation, you get a tax deduction and some cool art, and I bring home some bacon. Win for all!
Disclaimer: I CANNOT reimburse the "loss" of your donated portion in the event that some unforeseen circumstance denies you possession of your intended purchase. Circumstances include but are not limited to: The FedEx truck carrying your painting drives off a cliff; my studio burns; an email fiasco or misunderstanding; your painting experiences spontaneous combustion; you unintentionally neglect to follow the steps outlined above; etc..... (But of course I'd pay you back the half that was paid to me.)
