And revealing the first painting for this show now.
The setup.

That's a replica fox skull made by Skullery (@skullerygram on
instagram). My intent is to transform it into fantastical dragon-beast.

My first trip to Arkansas was a success. The Fort Smith Regional Art
Museum did an amazing job hosting my still life workshop. This was the
main demo, "The Red One" (9x12):

And a variety of quick demo-ettes:

And a 1-hour obligatory foil demo :). I never get tired of the foil:

Speaking of workshops, I'm about to enter a whole new realm....
Portrait! I've been sharpening up on my alla-prima life portrait skills
in preparation to teach my first portrait workshop in July in Texas.
These two were painted by knife (umber block-in with brush), each
during 3-hour open studios life model sessions at Gage Academy:

Excerpt from the article:
Cheifetz has found that as his painting career progresses, he is
letting down his creative boundaries. In the exhibition will be the
work "I Live with the Fae", which celebrates this transition. "My
typical genres are flowing together, and my personal life and internal
growth becomes more and more an inspiration," Cheifetz explains. "This
painting is a tribute to that evolution and the newfound joy of
creating that has come with it. Inspiration pervades my life
constantly--my task is to pay attention and pluck it out of the ether."
