I recently posted about the unexpected benefits of an unintentionally protracted painting process that has become common for me these days. And so, the theme continues. This portrait has turned a corner. I thought I was approaching a finish, but then yesterday I realized that in order to satisfy my own evolving expectations, I had to take it to another level of refinement, and so a new can of worms has been opened. I'm coming across technical urges that likely would not have occurred to me had I been able to paint at a quicker and more desirable pace. This is pretty cool. #painterthoughts #tinyassbrush
