Suffice to say, this is a strange and challenging time. I, for one, could use the mental break, so let's just get to it ;).

New painting. Here is my original reference. I took this photo in 2016 during a reference-gathering excursion. This is outside of Benaroya Hall in Downtown Seattle. Sometimes it takes a few years for a photo's potential as reference to materialize. I love how this man's leather jacket reflects light. And a bold foreground element is a gift--a precious find!

My Trekell linen-on-aluminum panel. With a greenish tone that I hoped with isolate and highlight the warm colors.

Starting loose with the knife. This is my favorite way to start.

Dialing in shapes and proportions and potential colors all at once.

For sale charity.

In the spirit of human solidarity during the pandemic, my new painting "Dusk Man" is up for sale with a catch: Half of the purchase price will be donated to the relief fund or charity or good cause of YOUR choosing (so that you can get the tax deduction and be able to donate in honor/memory of, etcetera. I'll just need a proof of donation before I ship the painting). If you don't have a charity in mind or if you'd prefer that I take care of it, I will choose the Thurston County Food Bank (my home county) and donate in your name.
