Dear Subscribers,
Greetings.
First, I have a message/request for my collectors.
I'm currently in the process of building a complete online archive of my paintings. It will extend from paintings sold as a student in 2008 all the way to present day works. It feels good to record the arc of my career in a more organized format. I'm hoping the archive will help to establish the provenance of collectors' property, provide context for secondary market value, help to value collections for insurance purposes, etc. You get the idea.
At somewhere over 400 paintings, this is quite a task. It involves rebuilding my records of sales and collector information. It's a little messy here, since half of my work has been sold through galleries, sometimes at one-off exhibitions or competitions, and sometimes I never knew who the buyer was. I have gaps of information that I would like to fill. As a personal benefit, I'd enjoy connecting with some of those unknown collectors (and reconnecting with known!).
I've been working my way back in reverse chronological order (I just finished posting artworks from 2013). You can see the archive-in-progress HERE. I've begun to reach out to collectors to confirm which paintings are in their collections. Some of you have heard from me already, but there are many collectors that I haven't contacted yet. If you own one or more of my paintings and haven't heard from me, it's either because you're on the list but I haven't gotten to you yet, or I don't have your contact information, or I never knew you collected a certain painting from a gallery. Either way, if you are so inclined to preemptively contact me with info, I'd love to hear from you! It will certainly help to expedite my process, and also give me a chance to thank you for supporting me. Building the archive has become an exercise in gratitude--a reminder of the fact that my paintings are being enjoyed daily in homes around the world, and a reminder of my fortune in having so many people willing to pay for my art, each sale an absolute necessity for sustaining my career and practice.
