Dear Subscribers,
Greetings!
One of the nicest things about doing this newsletter is being able to interact with all of you. Sometimes I receive comments on my work and other times I'm asked very specific questions about techniques or materials.
I'm going to try something new. Let's call it an "experiment" for the time being. Something that will allow subscribers to interact and also allow me to answer questions in a public setting so others might see the answers as well.
I have created "The Newsletter Forum". It will be accessible at the end of each newsletter, as well as from the menu on my website. Each week a post will be created, coinciding with the mailing of the newsletter. This forum is intended as a public place for comments/questions/discussion pertaining to that week's issue. Simply click on the "comment" link and post away! I will be sure to read and respond. Of course if you prefer to have a private dialog, simply reply to the newsletter email as per usual. If you'd like to participate in my experiment, a link to the forum is provided at the end of this newsletter!

Some close-ups for a better view:

Cars....take...for....EVER. For me at least. I think cars are like faces. If the proportions aren't just quite right, we realize it and are subconciously (or conciously) annoyed. We've all somehow memorized the shapes and proportions of hundreds of different brands and models, and we know BS when we see it!
I like the interaction between the paint and the original warm/cool tones I put on the panel. Without that element, I think I would have felt the composition was missing something.
I'd forgotten to show you the finished nude study from last month at Safehouse Atelier night class, so here it is:
"Nude Study: Pool of Light" (12x24)

My still-life oil painting class is going strong. In April I'm expanding the schedule to include Fridays! Fridays will be cast drawing OR still-life painting. So:
Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays 9am-noon
Ongoing monthly, $250 for 2 days a week, $350 for 3 days a week
A small class in my studio (max ~6 people). All levels welcome!
For more information or to be placed on the waiting list, email me.
JUST SOLD!:

Post comments/questions about this week's issue at The Newsletter Forum!
Until next week,
