Dear Subscribers,
Greetings!
Two new knife-painted still-lifes this week, courtesy of new thrift store junk! I'm getting addicted to the knife. I just ordered some different knives so expect more experimentation soon.
Here's the first one. Below is an animation of the process. If it doesn't show properly in your email, go HERE.

You'll notice in the setup there is no flower. That's because I didn't have one. I just made it up... I kept altering it until it somewhat resembled a rose. The glow helps obscure the details :).
The finished painting, "Blossom in Murk" (8x8):

And the finished painting, "White Dawn" (8x8):

Getting the candlestick to read well in front of the pitcher was an exercise in restraint. I had to make sure to condense my value range in the pitcher, avoiding darks. I can't stop using that pitcher. It's just too fun to paint. (It currently shows up 8 times on my website)

I made homemade dark chocolate (with stevia). After some research and experimentation it was actually really easy. What a revelation. I made it so very dark, right on the edge of palatability, just how I likes it. My wife says it might be the best chocolate she ever had (!?!). I might agree. I shall never be lacking for good chocolate ever again. This is monumental. Life-altering.
