This still life caught my eye for its brilliant combination of techniques ranging from realistic to surreal to tonal. The whimsy of this interrogation of teakettles begs for an explanation. :)

Monthly Judge's Comments (October 2014): This painting gets points on originality. It's a story that each viewer can make up on their own. My version is that there are people that don't know how beautiful they are or haven't reached their potential. They are looking on to another person that has realized how beautiful they are and they decided to shine and show the world that all it takes is a little courage to step into the light and let your light shine. Besides a great story, it's painted really well.
