Second news. Welcome to those of you new folks who found me because of
the Reddit thing. That was wild. My painting "Left Turn" (2013) was
trending on the Reddit front page for a day (this past Thursday).
According to the Imgur host, the picture got 1.14 million views in the
first 12 hours. I had a good time reading all the comments, and
responding to some.

Final Juror of Awards Comments:
This still life caught my eye for its brilliant combination of
techniques ranging from realistic to surreal to tonal. The whimsy of
this interrogation of teakettles begs for an explanation. :)

Monthly Judge's Comments (October 2014): This painting gets points on
originality. It's a story that each viewer can make up on their own. My
version is that there are people that don't know how beautiful they are
or haven't reached their potential. They are looking on to another
person that has realized how beautiful they are and they decided to
shine and show the world that all it takes is a little courage to step
into the light and let your light shine. Besides a great story, it's
painted really well.

Next, the Flrrblz return. Two little 7x5s.
A new breed. Started with a little sketch. I researched some bumblebee
closeups online to get the fuzzy part right.

Another new breed. This time I was looking at pictures of Black Widow
spiders. I liked the stance and proportions.

Decided to ditch the extra eyes. Too un-flrrbl like.

Working on a flat surface with little brushes was refreshing. Nice to
mix things up.

Seeing as how my family will be expanding any day now, I can't
definitely say "see you in two weeks". I'll just say see you soon.
